KaBlooEy!!!

Yes, the word may look weird funny to students, but they LOVE to yell it! KaBlooEy! pronounced ka-bloo-ee is an adjective that means "destroy"! KaBlooEy! is similar to an old time favorite game! I wanted to give students a different word to yell in their excitement! Besides, the word KaBlooEy! just sounds silly! This KaBlooEy! game is to practice or review factors. Many times students confuse factors with multiples. They need practice with factors to help them with later skills such as adding and subtracting fractions and so forth.

To play, the teacher must first choose an "Expert". The expert is responsible for checking answers using the answer key. When it is the expert's turn, he/she can have someone check his/her work. Students take turns pulling a strip from the envelope [NO PEEKING!] They then answer the question by recording their response on their Student Response Sheet. The expert will determine if the answer is correct or incorrect. If it is correct, the player gets to keep the strip which earns him 1 point. If it is incorrect, the player must place the strip back into the envelope. The most exciting part of the game is when a player pulls a KaBlooEy! strip. If a player pulls one, everyone yells KaBlooEy! [C'mon it can be an inside, quiet yell!] The player then must place all of the strips/points that he/she has earned back into the envelope, and it's the next player's turn. KaBlooEy! strips are placed to the side once pulled from the envelope. The winner is the player who has the most points when the teacher calls time. Students love this game! Be sure to check it out in my TpT store! The first 5 people to comment on this post, leave his email address AND are a blog follower of mine will receive this fun game for FREE!!!

It's a New Year! Will There Be a New You?

I'm SO happy to be able to bring in 2013 with my beautiful, loving family!  With a lot of people a new year brings new changes.  I personally am hoping for some changes in my personal life and career, but I'm not making any New Years' resolutions.  I know...."Party Pooper!" Ha!  Ha!  Ha!
As always I plan on doing things to the best of my ability!  I'm going to continue doing this with my family.  I'm going to make sure that I put them first and continue to cherish all moments spent with them.  I am also going to make more of an effort to update my blog....With family and work my schedule is often very hectic!  I have ideas for blogs and Teachers Pay Teachers products but never make the time to actually sit, produce and post.   I MUST DO BETTER!!!
Again, these aren't New Years resolutions.  I'm just going to say that I'm improving a life that is already great!  I have God, my family, friends and a job!  I'm beginning the year playing games and spending time with my family today.  Oh yeah, I have a new blog design.  Feel free to check it out and leave your thoughts and comments!  Happy New Years All!!!!

Tears...My First Award! The Liebster Award!

I first would like to thank Tara from ...and they all fall down.  I think this was her way of telling me to post on my blog.  Lol!  It HAS been a month!   Apologies to my 27 followers!  I'm pretty sure that you all understand...Life gets a little busy!  Now back to my fabulous Liebster Award...

I was nominated for a Leibster Blog Award sooooo....here's the 411 on Jennifer The Extra Energetic Educator!

Questions from My Nominator:
1. What is your favorite subject to teach?
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to teach math!  In the morning, in the afternoon, inside the building, outside the building, on the playground, in the hall...I LOVE math!

2. What is your favorite color?
My favorite color has evolved since I was younger.  Up until that last few years it was and has always been purple.  Now I'm leaning more towards pink and red

3. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I wanted to share my Teachers Pay Teachers products.  Then I thought that it would be a great idea to help teachers find helpful resources for their classrooms.  I love helping people!  You never know when you will need help!

4. Why did you choose teaching as a profession?
I've always wanted to be a teacher since childhood.  I remember teaching my dolls and attempting to teach my brother.  On a more serious note...there have been so many teachers that have influenced me, and I want to spread that love for learning to others.

5. How much money do you think teachers should make a year?
$5,000,000,000,000,000...sorry the only reason I stopped with the 0s was because my index finger became tired of typing the 0s.  Teachers are seriously WAY underpaid!  Oh, yeah, it's just my opinion.

6. What is your favorite month of the year?
Ughh...ughhh...April!?!  It's a refreshing, renewing kind of month!

Thanksgiving!  I love gathering with my family especially my extended family.  We do not get to see each other often.  We have our family reunion during the Thanksgiving holidays!  Tons of laughter and love!

8. What is a family tradition that you intend to carry on with your family?
Dang!  These questions are hard!  We spend birthdays together and everyone has to eat the meal that the birthday person chooses...no matter what!  It's his/her birthday!

9. Morning person or night owl?
Morning...definitely!  I used to be a night owl...then I aged!

10. Is bigger always better?
Nope, just ask my scale!

11. What childhood toy do you remember the best?
My cabbage patch dolls and their birth certificates!
