Product Swap: Super Text Detectives

A few of us got together to swap some of our favorite products... and we wanted to share them with you!  Seriously...I'm in LOVE!  Have you seen the Super Text Detectives editions from Luckeyfrog's Lilypad!  Love, love, love!  I tried her November edition with my 4th and 5th grader and they actually asked for more of them to complete!  Super Text Detectives focus on text evidence which you all know is a HUGE skill in Common Core.  The November edition have topics such as Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, football, Native Americans, branches of government, etc.

On each of the skill sheets students have to find and highlight with a specific color within the text.  They have to answer questions such as who, what, where, why and how.  What makes this such a great activity is that the students cannot just guess the answer!  They have to find the proof and highlight it.  One of my girls decided to check off the questions with the different colors as she completed them.  The other one decided to color in the crayons after she answered the question.  Thanks Luckeyfrog's Lilypad!  Here are a few pictures.

Review: Classroom Sharpener Review

Shh...Do You Hear That?...Nope, I do not hear a loud obnoxious pencil sharpener that students are constantly "feeding" because I tried out the Classroom Friendly Pencil Sharpener.  The good people over at Classroom Friendly Supplies sent a desktop pencil sharpener for me to review...and the students and I LOVE it (not to mention some teachers who kept asking about the "pretty" "good sharpening" pencil sharpener).  I know that everyone is looking for a good pencil sharpener for the start of the school year.  Lol!  When are teachers not shopping for school supplies!  Check out some of the features of the Classroom Friendly Pencil Sharpener!
